A: The majority of all accounts on our system may be on a "shared ip" meaning there are other customers on the same ip you are. This is why its benifical for you to transfer your domain promptly once signed up with us.
You can always view your account at http://yourip/~yourlogin
A: Yes, we can point a domain to a subdirectory. We suggest you create a sub-domain first, and we can point it to that, because if we point a domain to a sub-directory, the user will be forwarded to http://yourdomain.com/directory, meaning they will not see http://www.the-domain-your-forwarding.com. There is an $20 setup fee and $4.00 per month per domain pointing to a sub directory. Please open a trouble ticket if you would like this setup.
A: There is a $20 change fee to change your domain from any existing domains currently setup.
To change your domain, open a trouble ticket with your change request.
A: We provide static ips by default for the last 2 of our 7 packages.
Usually we only give static ips to customers if you have a good reason. Why? Because ARIN (the people who control the ip addresses of the internet) set up strict rules that state that we can not give an ip to a domain just because you want it. Two valid reasons are that
1. You need SSL setup
2. You need anonymous FTP setup
If you have a valid reason for a static ip, you will need to backup your entire site (using the backup feature in your control panel) before requesting it because we will terminate your account and reset it up
There is a $10.00 setup fee and $4.00 per month for a static ip address
Your site will be deleted and recreated, so its vital that you follow the instructions below
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please follow these instructions on obtaining a static ip address
There is no longer any need to re-setup accounts, to request a static ip, just open a trouble ticket, and email billing@acehostnet.net the ticket number and they will get it setup.
A: We have a full set of instructions located at http://www.acehostnet.net/dns.htm
Once you change your domain's dns, you should be able to view your domain within 72 hours
